Sporting Life

Jacksonville is more noted as a golfer's paradise which makes sense given that the PGA Tour and World Golf Hall of Fame have been located here. There are more than fifty courses from which to choose ranging from the ocean side links to the public courses, all with something different to offer the golf enthusiast of all skill levels. Some of the best are the Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra, snooty included but then it can as it is where the PGA tees off. The world Golf Village and the World Golf Hall of Fame are located in St Augustine, a stone's throw from Jacksonville.

Fishing is also great is the area but unless you are over 65 or under 16, you need a permit. The way around this is to hook on to a boat or group that have a valid saltwater fishing license and then its anchors away.

For spectator sport you have to head to the Jacksonville Jaguar Stadium. This is where the National Football League franchise has made its home and where you can enjoy some great football, notably the Florida-Georgia game each November and the Gator bowl each January. College football makes for one fantastic 48 hour party.
